Listen to the music:

This live album was recorded in 2004 in Rome. The songs Hopit S.W., Taking Off. Raindrops and Paco Paquito y Pablo were already recorded in the studio album Tree and Figure, and La Edad de la Ira and Ninietta were new songs to be recorded on our next studio album La Edad de la Ira.

Hopit S.W. is a bluesy and joyful medium song, and was just perfect to open the concert. La Edad de la Ira is a composition inspired by Oswaldo Guayasamín’s paintings with the same title, Ninietta a bossa dedicated to my wife and Taking Off a blues. When it came to the moment of a ballad we played the intimate Raindrops, but at the end we got stuck on an hypnotic C pedal that eventually tied itself with Paco, Paquito y Pablo, a lively song tinged with Spanish flamenco sounds. We thought we had finished but on request as an encore we played an improvised blues. It is good to go home with a blues ringing in your ears.

Antonio Flinta piano, Roberto Bucci double bass, Claudio Gioannini drums.
